A semi-integrated motorhome is a valuable possession: compact, comfortable and versatile. However, anyone who knows their motorhome also knows that standing still brings risks. Over time, rain, frost, UV radiation, dust and bird droppings can damage the paintwork, rubbers and seals. A good semi-integrated motorhome cover is therefore not a luxury, but a sensible investment in keeping your motorhome in top condition.

Why protect a semi-integrated motorhome?
1. Protection against the weather
Sun, rain and frost are the biggest enemies of a motorhome at rest. UV radiation attacks the paintwork and plastic, while rain and condensation cause damp patches or mould. In winter, frost can dry out rubbers or cause small cracks. A waterproof yet breathable motorhome cover keeps moisture out and lets vapour escape. As a result, the motorhome stays dry inside and out.
2. Less cleaning
If you leave your motorhome unprotected over winter, you know how stubborn green deposits, bird droppings and dust can be. Removing them takes time and energy. A motorhome cover largely prevents this, so you can set off quickly on the first trip of the new season without spending half a day cleaning.
3. Longer lifespan and value retention
A semi-integrated motorhome is a serious investment. Regular maintenance goes without saying, but protection while it is standing still is just as important. By protecting the motorhome against UV and rain, the paintwork stays looking good for longer, plastic parts discolour less quickly and rubbers stay supple. This not only means a better appearance, but also a higher residual value if you ever decide to sell.

When to use a motorhome cover
Fitting a semi-integrated motorhome cover
Fitting a cover over a semi-integrated motorhome is generally quite manageable. With some preparation, and two people if possible, it is easy. Follow these steps:
1. Make sure your motorhome is clean and dry. Dust, moisture or leaves can get trapped or rub under the cover
2. Unroll the cover in front of the motorhome and position it lengthways, so that the zips (if present) are at the top.
3. Pull the cover from the cab end over the body. Ideally, work with one person at the front and one at the rear to get the corners right. Tip: a step ladder can be very helpful here.
4. Close the zips or buckles and tighten the adjustable straps or tensioning cords at the front and rear so that the cover fits snugly.
5. At the bottom, check that the adjustable buckles are secure and that the hem runs neatly under the wheels or chassis. This prevents wind or dirt from lifting the cover.
6. Open the ventilation flaps: they allow any condensation to escape.
