Protecting your motorhome with a motorhome cover is a sensible choice, especially when storing it for a longer period of time. Even when your motorhome is stored indoors or under shelter, it is advisable to protect it against dirt. Bird droppings, dust and other debris are often found in abundance in motorhome and caravan storage facilities. In this article, we explain in three simple steps how to fit a motorhome cover over your vehicle.

What you need / what is useful to have beforehand:
– A clean, dry motorhome
– The correct size LUNA motorhome cover
– Two people: fitting the cover is considerably easier with two
– A (high) household stepladder

Step 1: The right location and a clean, dry motorhome

Before fitting the motorhome cover, it is important to make sure your motorhome is parked in the right location. After all, once the cover has been applied, the motorhome can no longer be moved. Also make sure the motorhome is clean and completely dry, otherwise, using a cover rather defeats the purpose ;-)

Step 2: Unroll the cover

Remove the cover from its storage bag and use the ‘front’ label to identify the front side. Next, unroll the cover alongside the motorhome and open the zip openings. Then pull the cover over the motorhome from both the front and rear. A household stepladder is very useful for this. Make sure the cover is positioned neatly and evenly over the motorhome, then close the zips again.

Step 3: Tighten the cover

Tighten the cover around both the front and rear of the motorhome using the adjustable tension straps. This gives the wind as little opportunity as possible to get underneath the cover. Next, use the supplied fastening straps to secure the cover underneath the motorhome, ensuring it stays firmly in place. Finally, open the ventilation flaps at the top of the cover. Your motorhome is now fully covered and optimally protected!

Storing your motorhome cover

When it is time to take your motorhome back on the road, it is advisable to store the cover clean, dry and carefully folded. This will help keep the cover in optimal condition and ensure it is ready to use again for the next storage period.
